Krista graduated from Chattanooga State in 1998 with an Associates of Applied Science in Legal Assisting and Paralegal Studies. Since then, she has accrued over 27 years of valuable experience in the legal field. For the first ten years of her career she worked for and helped manage general practice attorneys in areas including family law, personal injury, creditor representation, bankruptcy, and estate planning. In 2008 she transitioned to working primarily in employment law matters with Donna and Doug at their former firm. Since 2019she has worked for Mikel & Hamill as their Paralegal and Practice Administrator with the sole focus of cases being employment law matters.
In the employment law arena, Krista is very knowledgeable about the elements of a claim, how the process works, critical time considerations, and how to assist clients as they walk through the stages of a lawsuit. She has also assisted as a paralegal in trial or hearings in multiple significant employment law matters.
Krista has been married to her husband, Keith, for 35 years and they are avid Georgia Bulldogs fans. She loves spending time with her family, adult children and grandchildren. When time permits, she also enjoys hanging out by the pool in the summers and reading a good book!
Katie is our legal assistant and will most likely be the first person you’ll chat with when you contact our firm. We trust her to communicate with you on a confidential basis to gather the information we need to analyze your case. Katie has valuable training in the issues we handle and she has a strong passion for social justice and making things equitable for all. She has a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in social work from Southern Adventist University. Over the years as a social worker, she has worked with many different populations of people and prides herself on being culturally competent.
